Where To Eat Healthy In Dallas: Mudhen Meat and Greens

As long as I’ve lived in Dallas, it has been a mission of mine to find the healthiest ways to eat out around town. When I heard that there would be a new veggie-centric restaurant opening attached to the farmers market, I marked my calendar and patiently awaited it’s arrival. It has only been open a few weeks and I can embarrassingly admit that I’ve tried almost 1/4 of their seasonal menu already. This restaurant is any health-nut’s dream come true. With an abundant amount of vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, and paleo options; Mudhen Meat and Greens is officially my new favorite restaurant in town.  (more…)



Where To Eat Healthy In Dallas: Modmarket

_MG_8706I think I’ve found my new favorite restaurant. Seriously guys, this place is a health-nut’s DREAM. Modmarket opened on the corner of 75 and Walnut Hill in February and I had been dying to check it out since I spotted it across from the newest Traders Joes a few months ago. It wasn’t until I saw their calorie conscious menu and that their motto is “We believe a diet of simple, whole foods is key to a happy, healthy life,” that I knew I had to stop by. After spending a total of $8, eating a total of 500 calories, and feeling totally and completely satisfied with my delicious experience did I realize that this is the restaurant I’ve been waiting for my entire life.  (more…)



Where to eat healthy in Dallas: Yucatan Taco Stand

Let’s all be honest with ourselves, the best part about Dallas is the food. The only thing any of us ever plan, or look forward to, is going out to brunch for bottomless mimosas or happy hour to get chips and salsa with a margarita on the side. Moving to lower Greenville turned my restaurant outings into a very regular occasion, especially now that it’s patio weather. All of the extra calories one can consume in a normal serving at a restaurant can be problematic though. I’ve made it my goal to do some research, dig up a little dirt on these popular restaurants, and figure out who actually has healthy options for those of us not looking to pack on the extra lbs.
